A House of Order

No one ever said I was a great housekeeper and I've never claimed to be. With 4 kids and being a single mom all week there are just some things that I let go. Last night I reached a breaking point. I do get tired of living in disorder. It's always so much more peaceful when my house is in order.
So, this morning after getting the boys off to school, I set the timer for 30 minutes and started in on the living room. Even with a 5 minute break to help Isabeau with something, I was able to get everything picked up and mostly put away. There are a few things on my bed that need

attention so I left them out.

Enjoy the before and after photos!!

Good job. I swear that timer thing is miraculous. There is just something about knowing that the cleaning will end that let's you endure it a little better. Your living room is beautiful, Jane.

Yep, it makes it easier. I didn't get to vacuuming but the timer went off. :-) Tomorrow is another day.

I asked #1 and 2 which picture they liked the best. Both agreed on the 3rd picture, the clean one:) It's good to have children recognize what looks nice and makes for a peaceful home. Some days, that timer really saves them, because it puts a limit on my cleaning. Other times, it's me it helps because I realize the given task really only takes 7 minutes (like dinner dishes and clean up) and I can endure 7 minutes. And the weeks or days I take time to let them do some chores, too? Yeah, that's a great help, also.
