Well, it's not a big deal anymore. I have no cravings for sugar or chocolate. Very weird. Now I'm wondering 'if I eat some, would my cravings come back?' and 'if I eat some, is it even going to taste very good?' Plain fruit is very sweet now. Some of it is too sweet! So how would sugar taste?
Now the big question- do I dare? It's not that I want to go out and pork out on sugary stuff. That would mean a *major* headache. That I know. I want to change my eating habits and finish losing this weight. We've made some changes for dinner at home. I actually have a menu planned out a week in advance!! Is enjoying a little desert now and again going to totally derail my efforts? I don't know so I haven't yet. I just keep wondering. And wondering, and wondering and not doing anything about it. (sigh) Eating some sounds really good but would it really be?

hmmm, that's a tough one. I don't think I would eat any until it was something I really really wanted and then have a little. You are doing great, I'm impressed.
Way to go 16 days and counting. Our insurance has challenged us to grab fruit instead of sweets for Jan-Feb, 80% of the days. Also water instead of soda. I covered my 20% days allowance before January 30th so I'm on none, nada, zilch until March 1st. I struggled the first couple days but, like you, find that other natural sweets really suffice. If I eat my 5 fruits before dinner on the 14th, do I still get my Valentine treats? I haven't decided! I have a 1# See's certificate from Christmas stocking, still. My experience is that if you go back, the cravings come back, too. One day I ate 2 mini snickers. They were way too sweet for me, who can usually down a dozen, easy, very bad! :-) As with the challenge, it is not to exclude completely, but to eat it in moderation. When my body is full of the natural sweets, the occasional treat is less enticing. That was all rather scattered. Sorry. Just a note to say, I'm on the same page. Oh, another note. I heard GBH make a comment on LK Live which led me to give up chocolate for good. After 8 months, I was no longer "addicted." I can eat it now without gorging. Soooo, I guess I'm saying, if/when you take that first bite again, do so with a determination to be moderate. We generally keep it to once a week for desserts here. -M
Darilyn, Yes, I will make sure it's something *really* worth taking that bite for!!!
Melissa, Thanks for the encouragement!! I can't even imagine eating a mini Snickers right now! Yuck. And I used to love Snickers. I would grab that before any other candy bar!
My next challenge is lowering my bread intake! I love Bread!!!!!!!
