I went to a retreat in Denver this past weekend for Mary Kay. It was fantastic!!! I got to go to Leadership Training at my National Sales Director's home. I learned so much over the weekend. I can't even start to tell everything. We got to hear from several National Sales Directors. One of them especially touched me. Her name is Davanne Moul. She told us her story. There was so much that I related to!!! I learned so many new things from her.
I came to the conclusion before I went to Retreat that I want to become a Director in Mary Kay, not for the money but for the choices that the money can give us. It can give Brian the choice to stay home instead of having to be away from us so much. It can give us the choice of where we want to live instead of where we have to live. The choice of the lifestyle we want to live instead of living on the edge of broke all the time.
On the flight home, I wrote out my plan for becoming a Director. I was shocked after I had written it all down because it's going to happen MUCH faster than I thought possible!!! I will be a Director by the end of January 2011!!!!!!!!!!
So, here we go. It means a lot of work (thankfully scheduled around my family time!) and a lot of discipline. It scares me half to death but Jan Harris (my National) says that if your goal doesn't make you sick to your stomach when you think about it, it's not big enough! Well, I'm quite sick to my stomach thinking about it!!!!!
Here's my pitch to everyone reading this (I know, there's not many but...............)- I need to meet new people. Lots and lots of new people!! I am looking for anyone interested in having a free facial and makeover. I'm looking for people who are willing to give me referrals (names and phone numbers of people they know). It's the only way my business will grow fast enough. I can go out and meet new people every day but that's not going to be enough. I need help!!!! I'm willing to travel to Utah even if there is enough reason to. Heck, I would fly pretty much anywhere if there was enough reason to!!! :-)
End of pitch. :-)
Here are some photos from the weekend. The first two are of Davanne Moul. She's so darn gorgeous!!! She's only 4'11 1/2". She is quite the fireball!!! The 3rd photo is Sales Director Melissa Nix-Henderson (l.) and National Sales Director Jan Harris. The 4th is me and my roommates, Martha (l.) and Missy (center). They were fabulous!!!!!!!!! I couldn't have asked for better roommates!!! One quirk about retreat is that Jan picks our roommates, we don't get to choose. It's fun to meet new people! The last photo is of a project I finished today. It's my favorite quote from the whole weekend. I cut it out in vinyl and put it on my office wall to remind myself that there is no room for doubt, only for discipline (another favorite quote!!).

I'm glad for your great experience. You are so blonde I barely recognized you:-). J/K In truth, you're looking really good, Jane. -M
Haha. I've been blond for quite awhile. :-) I don't even remember the last time I colored it.
